Here is where you start your adventure as Mega Man X, a maverick hunter out to hunt the reploids and protect humanity. Due to these reploids having free will, a mass of them decide to go maverick against humanity with their leader Sigma at the helm. If you can’t see where this is heading yet, think of Bladerunner or any dystopian A.I. Cain decides to replicate X and thus reploids (replicant androids) are created. Cain helps bring up and study X because X is special in that he has the power of free will. Light never got to see the completion of X, though. X was created by Thomas Light as a possible champion/hero for the future.
MEGAMAN X STAGE CHANGES ANDROID
Cain discovers a capsule containing an android named X within it. The story takes place roughly 100 years after the original game. Because of this I feel that Mega Man X would be a great entry point for any gamer to jump right in and have an enjoyable experience. The games mentioned were keeping tried and true formulas while also improving on graphics and mechanics within the games for the Super Nintendo/Super Famicom system. In the scramble to reinvent and improve old classic series like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Contra and Castlevania, there’s also room for Mega Man in the mix. The franchise has gone on to spawn numerous sequels and side series including Mega Man Legends, Mega Man ZX, Mega Man Zero, and Mega Man X.Īlthough Mega Man got its start on the NES/Famicom, I believe X would be a great introductory point for anyone trying to get into the games. Mega Man has also become one of Capcom’s many mascots - maybe even the mascot. Mega man has been iconic in the video game industry ever since his first adventure on the Famicom/Nintendo Entertainment System.
Capcom is synonymous with classic video game franchises such as Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and of course, Mega Man.
